History Major to Participate in Selective Undergraduate Research Workshop

Emily Wood, a junior History major, has been selected to participate in the Fifth Annual Undergraduate Research Workshop to be held at the McNeil Center for Early American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

Emily will be writing her History Capstone this semester on European-Polynesian exchange in the late eighteenth century. Her proposal on this topic was selected out of a competitive field of applicants. She will be joining ten other undergraduates from all over the U.S. for the workshop.

Emily has been paired with a mentor who will help guide her through the research and writing of her Capstone project.  Emily will meet the other fellows and her mentor on February 15, and then take tours of archives in Philadelphia. She will give a presentation on her project at a multi-day conference at the University of Pennsylvania in April.
