Prison Education and Social Justice Panel Discussion

The Dawley Center for the Study of Social Justice is pleased to present Prison Education and Social Justice on Wednesday, February 13th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Library Auditorium.

TCNJ students have been taking courses, taught by TCNJ faculty, with Wagner students at the Albert C. Wagner Youth Correctional Facility in Bordentown over the past few years.  In three consecutive sessions, former Wagner students, TCNJ students and faculty who took part in the program will share their experience.

At 3:00 p.m., a panel of former Wagner students will discuss how taking college courses with TCNJ students have affected their lives since their release from prison.

At 4:00 p.m., TCNJ students who have taken courses with Wagner students will discuss what they gained from the experience.

At 5:00 p.m., TCNJ faculty who have taught these combined courses at Wagner will share their experience and discuss the role of prison education in promoting social justice.

At 6:00 p.m., we will continue the conversation outside the library auditorium over light refreshments.

The entire TCNJ community is invited to this important panel discussion as TCNJ continues to build on its College in Prison initiative.
