Phi Beta Kappa, founded in December 1776, is the nation’s oldest honor society in the liberal arts. Membership in this organization is offered only to top students who demonstrate excellence throughout the liberal arts; Phi Beta Kappa chapters exist only at the best liberal arts colleges in the country, making membership in this organization even more selective.
