The sense of community! Like how we’re constantly learning from one another, not just in the classroom, but through the connections and friendships we build. Whether it’s through social events, class discussions, or collaborative projects, I’ve found people who challenge me, support me, and grow with me. That sense of shared purpose and belonging has been really meaningful to me. You will always find a familiar face in HSS!
Lake Sylva. Whenever things start to feel overwhelming, I go there to take a breather. It’s quiet, peaceful, and helps me reset mentally. Just sitting by the water for a few minutes gives me the space I need to reflect and take care of my mental health.
Never be afraid to ask questions. Whether it's about your classes, campus life, or just finding your way, there are people here who genuinely want to support you. It’s normal to feel nervous or out of place at first, but those feelings don’t make you any less capable. Everyone is figuring things out in their own way, you’re not alone in that!
