Crocheting, traveling, spending time with friends and family.
Off-campus, I have worked as a retail associate for over two years now. I also babysit and work with an 8-year-old girl on the spectrum. Last summer, I was her one-on-one paraprofessional, working with her one-on-one every day for several weeks at a day camp.
How supportive the professors are. They are always there to help and are constantly trying to get you involved. Additionally, the various research opportunities are also something that sparked my interest in this department.
The student center. There is always something going on and a way to get involved and seek out different opportunities. It is also a good chance to do some work with friends.
Build a connection with your professors early. A lot of professors in this department are eager to help their students succeed and want to open the door to various opportunities. Attend office hours and build a relationship with them as they can help you with building your career, or simply just excelling in that class individually.
