Co-organized by Dr. John Sisko (Philosophy) and Dr. Nicholas Toloudis (Political Science), the “Exploring Economic Justice” Series includes a diverse array of lecturers and topics that will span across the Fall 2014 semester. The team also co-wrote a grant request to the New Jersey Council of the Humanities and with these funds have been able to make a more effective series.
“[The series] could not have come together without out [the grant],” said Dr. Toloudis.
The main goal of the series is to show “how concerns for economic justice permeate different areas of our lives,” according to Dr. Toloudis. Each forum will link themes such as music, literature, politics as well as film showings to the leis motif of national and global economic fairness.
“We are proud of how diverse our lecturers are,” said Dr. Toloudis, explaining that the idea in lecture-selection was that each forum would propose different ideas about justice and how to discuss it.
The first event will be a musical performance-fused lecture on Wed., September 17 at 4 p.m. in Mayo Hall.
Check our Fall 2014 Calendar to see specific details about when the forums will take place and what they will be covering.
