Several HSS students were awarded at the Sigma Tau Delta Convention:
- Alumna Kristen Capano ’18 won an Alumni Epsilon award for her essay on “Fanny Price in the Attic: Austen Defies Femininity”.
- Senior Jennifer Johnson ’19 (MA ’20) won an American Literature award for her essay on “Harriet Jacobs: Invisibility as Power”.
- Junior Ally McHugh ’20 won a Common Reader prize for her essay, entitled “Aligning Humans & Nature in ‘Elsewhere Flood’”.
Many congratulations to Felicia Jean Steele, who served as convention chair for 2019.
